About Me
"The Solo Travel Pro"
Stacy Yvette Bruce is a bold, brave, and beautiful force, a former athlete turned wellness advocate, author, and solo travel inspiration. Raised in the quiet countryside of Southern Virginia and now thriving in the vibrant city life of Charlotte, NC, Stacy embodies resilience, self-discipline, and unapologetic authenticity.
From a young age, Stacy’s life revolved around sports. She was a standout athlete in Lunenburg County, excelling in Track & Field and Varsity Basketball. As a sprinter at CHS, she competed in the 100, 200, and 400-meter races, from long to triple jumps, and 4x100 relays. On the basketball court, she left an unforgettable mark, scoring over 1,000 points, earning MVP honors, and being named All-Conference Player of the Year during her high school career. Coming from a small school with just 96 students in her graduating class, these achievements made her a hometown hero.
However, in 2005, during a memorable college basketball game, Stacy suffered a devastating ACL tear, an injury no athlete ever wants to face. The experience challenged her both physically and mentally, but instead of surrendering, she found strength. It was this pain and the recovery process that built her into a stronger version of herself, mentally fortified, physically focused, and deeply motivated to help others on their journey to healing and health.
Today, Stacy channels her passion for fitness and mental wellness into her life’s mission: to empower others to push past limitations, embrace self-discipline, and discover their inner strength. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: “The only person stopping you is you.”
Stacy is also the author of "The Ultimate Solo Travel Guide: Adventures Through the Caribbean and South America," an inspiring, no-fluff passport to over 10 destinations across the Caribbean and South America. Written from the lens of a fearless Black woman who has traveled solo and faced the world with courage, the book is filled with firsthand travel stories, hidden gems, safety tips, cultural insights, and confidence-boosting advice. Whether it’s sipping margaritas in Cabo or exploring Havana’s rich history, Stacy proves that solo travel isn’t just about visiting places, it’s about finding yourself.
Now based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Stacy works with clients to improve their health, mindset, and quality of life. Through fitness, nutrition, and her powerful example of resilience, she continues to uplift and inspire both in her community and around the globe.
